National Farmers' Market Week National Farmers’ Market Week will be celebrated nationally August 1-7, 2010 with events on St. Croix and St. John on Friday August 6th and St. Thomas on Saturday August 7th, 2010. A new population of the tropical bont tick was found at one farm in Estate Golden Grove, St. Croix. VIDA Veterinary Services quarantined the herd and has completed inspection and treatment for over 1000 neighboring animals. No other bont ticks were found. Inspection and surveillance will continue on the infected farm for 3 years. If anyone suspects they have the bont tick on their livestock, please contact VIDA immediately at 778-0997 ext. 252.
